Passion Project

Teala, your dolls house project was a wonderful idea and the end product was brilliant. Your creativity, attention to detail and task commitment is outstanding. You take on challenges and make them work, for example using Google sketch up. You persevered until you could make it work in the way you want it to. Your eye for design is excellent and you really impressed the tutors from the Southern Institute of Technology.
Good luck for next year. You have huge potiential, pursue you dreams.

Self reflection

This is my self reflection on what I think I scored as in my passion project recording and stuff. I think I scored my self accurately. I don't think I was below in anything.
It is on a scale of below to above. Average being the middle. You placed you self anywhere and wrote why you placed yourself in that certain place.
For the first one I wrote "I have used over 5 recourses all recorded. And I have a updated record in my recourse log".
For the second one I wrote " I have used lots of different ways to organize my info such as graphic organizers, blog, keynote etc".
For the third one I wrote "I have transferred my information into different things like presentations, movies etc".
For the last one I wrote "My keynote is detailed throughout the hole process. I have showed that I have new learning?".
Thank you for reading

Passion project

This is my recorded passion project process. It shows how I have altered my passion project throughout the two terms given to complete a topic of choice. I chose to design and make a dollhouse.
The first page is about what I chose for my passion project. It also explains what a passion project is.
The second page is why I chose my passion project. About choosing and stuff.
The third page is about tuning in. Tuning in is a page for where your mind maps (Venn Diagrams, PMI etc). Mind maps are for sorting out and organizing information. I used a Venn Diagram.
The fourth page is the recourse log. It is meant for sorting out information you collect. It shows who, where, what.
The fifth- ninth page is sorting out. This was the depth of the passion project if that made sense. Sorting out is basically a page for all off the information you gather. Mine includes new plans, new information and ideas/ alterations.
The next page is going further. Going further is going further in your information. And its for questions about like what you enjoyed most and what you found most interesting.
The 11th page is the Reflection page. Its where you reflect on your information and where you can make conclusions too.
The 12th page is for sharing. It has questions on how you can share with the community. I put that I can share this with my class, as I will share this on Thursday.
The next page I decided to add. It is the skills I used.

I used Gathering data through all senses, finding humor, remaining open to continuous learning, listening and understanding with empathy, persisting, metacognition, striving for accuracy, thinking interdependently, responding with wonderment and awe, managing impulsivity, thinking flexibly, taking responsible risks, questioning and posing problems and finally applying past knowledge to new situations. I gathered data through all senses because I looked on the computer for information, I listened to experts and I created drawings with my hands. I used finding humor because I had “funny moments” all through out this year. I was always remaining open to continuous learning. I listened and understood carefully to Warren so I used ‘listening and understanding with empathy’. I was always persistent and firm and obstinate continually in spite of difficulty. I was aware and understanding about my passion project so I was sort of using metacognition. I always strived for accuracy I tried my best. I thought interdependently with all the people I worked with like Warren and Pania. I responded with wonderment and awe when I saw my dollhouse. I managed my inpulsivity by not yelling out MY DOLLHOUSE IS AWESOME! I thought flexible by thinking outside of the box. I took a responsible risk by choosing to do my passion project around building. I questioned Warren a lot so I used Questioning and posing problems. I applied past knowledge to my new situation because my mom and I used to decorate old dollhouses. These were all the habits of mind I used.

The fourth last page is a page thanking SIT. The have helped ALOT throughout my project.

The third last page is some photos.

The second last page is about me. I added this in my self as a personnel touch. Its basically my life story. Its sort of funny.

The last page is the goodbye page. Finally finished.

Thats all about my keynote. Thanks, bye!!

HOM I have used

Through out my passion project the habits of mind I have used are everything.
Gathering data through all senses, finding humor, remaining open to continuous learning, listening and understanding with empathy, persisting, metacognition, striving for accuracy, thinking interdependently, responding with wonderment and awe, managing impulsivity, thinking flexibly, taking responsible risks, questioning and posing problems and finally applying past knowledge to new situations. Dollhouse SIT

Hi again, Im sorry I haven't posted from the last week, Blogger wouldn't let me. So Im posting them all this week. Anyway, this is some pictures of me at SIT getting my dollhouse made. IThe picture of the two guys are Warren (right) and The Joinery Guy (left). The machine going back and forward is the machine that cut out my dollhouse. It cuts out things. You have to program it to do it on a computer, as shown. It takes around 15 minutes to cut out things. It did for my dollhouse. So next they join it together. My dollhouse didn't use any glue or hinges or anything. I am painting it. So just look at my old posts to see what colors and all.
More posts coming. And by the way. Im trying to upload a video but it won't work. GRR!!! I'll try it later.

Plans 2/11/10

Hello again. This is a picture of a scanned image Warren drew on the computer of the layout of what my house would look like unfolded. This is from my sketch up designs. But he has modified and made it on his program. It includes 2 sides, 3 floors (attic, ground and 2nd), 2 door way halls, lots of windows, accessories, 2 piece roof, slots, and soon it will have bits for the rooms. The walls. I want to thank Warren so much. He is doing this all for free. He is hooking me up with some free paint samples, amazing equipment, wood for the house, advice and lots of really nice things. So my next steps to do are let Warren cut out the house, put it together, paint it, decorate it, and make a movie (maybe). I have started on the movie but I don'd really like it. Its a cool idea. I would love to make it in spare time. I don't believe I will have time for dolls or furniture but I can do it at home.

Similarities and Differences between Goth houses and Usual.

Hello again. I had to have a graphic organizer so I did a venn diagram about Goth houses, and typical working class houses. The features/ things that goth houses have, and usual houses don't are explained in the picture above. And that is that they have dark colors, pointy, scary, unique shapes, dead, bigger. And the things that usual houses have, and goth houses don't, are in the picture. And that is happy, typical shape, lighter colors, and plain. The things goth and usual houses both have are a roof and the fact that they are both houses. I worked for a very long time on the first picture above. It was made on Sketch Up. I worked hard on every single house. It was very hard. Its a neighborhood with 1 goth and 7 usual, Its pretty easy to tell which is which. I will have a cool reflection at the end of the day. Thanks, Teala.
